Jellyfish

Let me just start by telling you that it’s been a very long time since I’ve enjoyed a Montreal restaurant like we enjoyed JellyFish. JellyFish is a restaurant that offers a menu mixed between raw and charcoal cooked meals. The location is absolutely amazing. Perfect decor, very spacious but yet cozy, you are guaranteed to be served by a very cool staff. We had the chance to try their menu on a Saturday date night and we were really pleased by the exotic array of different meals, each and everyone influenced by the chef's travel experiences. Can you spot that amazing piece of bacon on my drink? It was so delicious. Oysters for the win and obviously a little meat but one of the ultimate features was the McCrab, a bao bun with fried crab, it was delicious. In my books, Jellyfish is really the place to be in Old Montreal right now, it's super mature and posh without costing you an arm and a leg, the perfect date spot or night-out-with-the-girls restaurant where you know you'll end up having a great meal.

Sunday brunch at ÊAT

When brunch comes served on a trolley, you know it's going to be a good one! Last weekend, during our stay at the W Hotel in Montreal, we tried out the new brunch menu at their home restaurant ÊAT. Honesty, I was really impressed. First of all, when you say brunch, I am there. I could have brunch for supper, I'm just that type of breakfast girl. I opted for the banana waffles with caramelized bananas and maple candied pecans and the boyfriend opted for the steak and egg plate. I love the concept of having brunch in a hotel restaurant. I fell like us Montrealers, we do not do that as much, with the amazing brunch selections we have around the city. New Yorkers do it a lot and I think we should def jump on the bandwagon, there is something about it that I love. Right now, ÊAT is clearly a strong contender on the brunch scene and I know I will be going back asap. ÊAT is currently serving brunch on weekends between 11am and 4pm.

Foodie Friday : Bevo

It's been awhile since the last Foodie Friday article but let me tell you there is many to come. Last December, we had the opportunity to try out Bevo restaurant in the Old Port. I was so excited for their renowned Nutella pizza, I was counting the days! For entree, we chose the Barbabietole, an amazing mix of roasted beets, pears and walnuts, the perfect mix of salty and sweet. For main dishes, we had to try their pizza, so we cracked for the Cotto e Bocconcini pizza and I had to try their pasta, the Rosata con Prosciutto e funghi. Everything was delicious and not too heavy, believe it or not. Finally, the cream of the crop the Nutella pizza, the waiter was kind enough to pre-order a mini version of the Nutella pizza, because he knew he were already stuffed, but I wasn't leaving the restaurant without a taste ;p Bevo is a really nice, casual restaurant, that can be perfect for those family suppers, even kid friendly. It's cool to have a family spot in the Old Port.

Foodie Friday : Kyo Bar Japonais

You should have realized that a new feature has been added to the blog : Foodie Friday. I absolutely trying new restaurants and Montreal is one of the best city's to do so. Last month, the boyfriend and I had reservations at Kyo Bar Japonais, an amazing new Old Port restaurant. A new thing we've been trying out this year is not deciding our meal and letting the chef bring us the speciality of the restaurant. We try to this at every new restaurant we try and we were so excited for Kyo Bar Japonais. The service was so on point, we barely waited for our food and the restaurant was full of people.

We started off with amazing cold entrees such as Scallop Ceviche with Yuzu, Beef Sashimi and Tataki Maguro. These entrees were everything, like pure joy in our belly's. We then continued with Pork Dumplings and the most amazing Cod dish. At this point, we were already so full but decided on a couple of sushi rolls such as the Shogun roll that was amazing. I am very picky with seafood and sushi and Kyo Bar Japonais really serves the best quality. Finally the piece de résistance were the Yuzu Donuts, a complete and utterly delight. If you are a fan of Japanese food you will be gladly impressed with Kyo Bar Japonais, a definite destination for your next Asian craving ;p

Saturday Hallway

Hello everyone !
I know I have been writing on here very sparingly and that's because I am currently finishing my internship and writing my final internship report/thesis.

Thank you for sticking with www.lapizofluxury.com, many posts will be up soon and new exciting collaborations.

It's been already a year that I have had the pleasure to do what I love and the growth and success of my blog and all your positive feed backs have only made me want to push harder and do more. Once again I want to thank you for all the support !

Now enough with the rambling and here is the outfit !

A casual Saturday night outfit for a restaurant outing.

Leather Jacket Style Exchange (old), Sweater H&M, Coated Black Pants LeGarage, Scarf H&M, Trainers ASOS, Handbag Louis Vuitton, Earrings (old)

And the LIPS : NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg an absolute beauty !

Now, I have always been a big fan of tartares but never had the opportunity to go to a restaurant that specializes in tartares, so that's where we went on Saturday with two of our amazing friends. We went to Marché 27, a tartare Bar where you have a different array of tartares and tartare styles, something for everyone.  Drool worthy !

We obviously wanted to try everything on the menu, so the perfect choice was this tasting plate filled with different styles of tartares.

And who can say no to oysters !

Enjoy !
