Favorite Winter Lipsticks !

As you may have noticed, I have been absent for a couple of weeks and this is due to the ridiculously long cold I have been battling through the beginning of the new year. But now, I am back in full force with a lot of new bits for this year and a couple of surprises I have been planning.

To start this new year, I want to show you my favourite lipsticks I've been sporting during this winter season. Here are my 6 picks for the season :

Here are the 6 lipstick swatched :

The YSL lipstick has the most amazing formula, it is so smooth and remains on the lips a pretty long time. I found this color while reading a magazine where it was mentioned that this is Kourtney Kardashian's go-to red lipstick. Since I have a similar skin tone I decided to try it and fell in love !

Revlon, oh Revlon ! If you want a good drug store lipstick, Revlon is the way to go. They have an amazing color selection and amazing color pay-off, you won't regret taking a glance at their counter.

Not much to say about MAC lipstick, yes they are a little drying on the lips, but with a good lip moisturiser, I think you can pull it off, they have such a good color selection, a color for every taste. 

Also, I found this Dior lipstick thanks to my lovely friend and cosmetician, she told me it was the perfect everyday lip and she was right. 

Finally, I found this L'Oréal lipstick by pure luck and fell in love with the color, the perfect burgundy lips, this lipstick has a really good staying power, definitely worth a try.

REVIEW : Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

 

A couple of months ago, Revlon came out with a new type of lip stain called the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. Now, obviously, since we are Canadians, we always get our stuff months and months after our neighbors down south. None the less, here is a little review on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

 

I got my hands on these the minute I saw them in my pharmacy. I'm lying, I actually cheated and purchased two of these at the end of the summer in the States and I really loved them, so I got more.

Here are the colors that I own.

These stains work pretty well, but I gotta say they dry out the lips a tad, but they do respect the ''stain'' part of the job, they actually do stay on the lips for quite sometime. On my part, I love the minty smell they have and I love the fact that they are in a pencil form. Some days, you just don't feel like wasting time on applying lipstick and that often happens when you wanna wear a dark color, but with these dark or light, it is super easy !

All in all, I recommend the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for their staying power but make sure you have a lip balm on hand to hydrate your lips !

MK for travel !

As many of you travel for business or just for pleasure, it’s not always convenient to bring along a huge wallet that doesn’t fit into a satchel for day or a clutch for night. Behold, I found the perfect sturdy compact wallet that is still stylish and colorful.

I present to you the Michael Kors Saffiano Medium carryall in Pink.

After many trips to the mall to find the perfect compact wallet for a trip to DisneyWorld, I found this baby on a site most of you know called Beyondtherack.com. This site offers designer items at a discount price. At first thought, I presumed this site would carry only previous season’s products, but no, Beyond the Rack even carries products that are currently on the shelves of your favorite stores. When I first saw this wallet, I was hesitant because buying online is not always convenient, since you cannot visualize well the product you are interested in. And so, I passed and did not purchase it.

The sale ended and I was empty-handed.

In the meantime, I went to my local Michael Kors boutique to see if I could maybe find the wallet, and see for myself the pros and cons of it. To my surprise, the Michael Kors stores did not even have this wallet in stock, and when I asked the salesgirl, she told me it was part of the new collection and would arrive in a month or so, which gave me even more of an itch to have it.

Two weeks later, BeyondtheRack.com offered the same sale and the minute I saw it, it was in my cart and charged to my credit card.

The Michael Kors Saffiano medium carryall filled all my expectations and was more than perfect for my trip. It’s a very sturdy wallet that has enough space for many credit cards (we all know we love our cc’s) and enough space for cash and change. Never mind the travelling, I now use this wallet on a night out to slip into a nice clutch.

Michael Kors now offers different colors and sizes retailing between 100$ and 160$ CAN, but be sure to check out sites like Beyondtherack.com to find the perfect sale.
