Always a Nomade

I can't even remember where my love for traveling and exploring the world came from. Coming from a culturally mixed family really impacted my vision and my values on the world. My dad left Morocco, his home to come study and explore Canada where he met my mom that fled Lebanon because of the civil war. Both coming from a strong cultural background, they completely adapted to a new home and created one for their 2 girls: my sister and I. 

Since our young age, both my sister and I have had the urge to explore, to discover the new, to seek places that other people call home. At the age of 18, I decided to explore where my father had called home and that completely opened my appetite for discovery. 

Recently, one of my favourite brands Chloé released their new scent, Nomade. Properly named, this new fragrance embraces the spirit of an adventurous feminine soul which totally fits with me and my crazy need to explore. The floral notes and fresh woody fragrance embodies one of a real Nomade. Nothing makes me happier than travelling, I feel like myself the most when I end up in an unknown place that I need to discover, to study, is that unusual...I'm not sure. 

Meeting new people, being exposed to new cultures, new food, new history simply makes me happy. All of these feelings were amplified when I met my boyfriend who comes for a latin background and shares this exact same need to always discover. In the last 11 years of being together, we've been to many many places from Armenia, to Qatar, to Portugal and New York, stepping into a new city brings us closer together and brings out the best of both us. We have so many new adventures that await us this year, being a Nomade is just part of who we are...

Rudsak & Ruby

New year, new me? Maybe! This year, I decided that maybe I should integrate a bit more colour into my wardrobe. Slowly but surely as they say! However, this outfit is all about this gorgeous Rudsak shearling vest, just to die for. You might think ''ok this is a vest you cannot wear in winter'', well, think again, because despite the fact that this look is over a simple dress, I currently have the Rudsak Tarlee vest over my winter wool jacket. Extra layers means extra cozy but always super stylish ;) Stay tuned, I'll make sure to show you how I layer this vest over my winter coat!

Nouvelle année, nouveau moi? Peut-être! Cette année, j'ai décidé qu'il était peut-être temps d'intégrer un peu de couleur dans ma garde-robe. Un peu à la fois. Par contre, la clé de ce look c'est la veste en shearling Rudsak, une beauté! Vous pensez probablement ''ok on parle d'une veste, impossible de la porter en hiver?'' Et bien, détrompez-vous! Présentement, je porte la magnifique veste Rusdak Tarlee sur mon manteau d'hiver. Une couche de plus pour être vraiment au chaud ;) Restez à l'écoute, je vais vous montrer comment je fais.

Rediscovering my closet

Summer may be over but I am still hanging on to it, because well, you never know. One of my favorite things to do, is rediscovering my closet. On the weekends, I love browsing through my closet and re-falling in love with pieces I had forgotten about. Mostly, what I love the most, is styling this long lost piece in a completely different way that I wore it the first time. Going through this little exercise also helps me declutter pieces that I know I won't wear anymore and this way, I can make place for new ;)  This time, I found this vest, that I wore over a turtleneck in the winter and paired it with my linen shorts and my current fave nude heels for a very summery sexy outfit for date night. This outfit may be one of my favorite ones, as I feel super good and comfortable in it and I love the head-to-toe beige look. You know me and monochrome ;)

L'été est peut-être terminé, mais, avec tous ces changements de température, on ne sait jamais. Une des choses que j'adore faire, c'est redécouvrir mon garde-robe. Le week-end, j'aime bien parcourir mon garde-robe et re-tomber en amour avec des pièces dont j'avais oublié. La plupart du temps, je vais retrouver une pièce et l'agencer de façon totalement différente, afin de créer un nouveau look. En faisant, ce petit exercice, je me débarrasse de plusieurs morceaux que je sais que je n'aime plus et cela me permet de faire un petit ménage. Plus de place pour des nouveaux morceaux ;) Pour ce look, j'ai retrouvé une belle veste beige que j'avais porté en hiver avec un col roulé. J'ai décidé de la porter sans rien et de l'agencer avec des shorts beiges en lin et mes nouveaux talons préférés pour une tenue un peu plus sexy. Ce look est un de mes préférés, car je me sens super comfortable et sexy et vous savez à quel point j'adore le look monochrome. Même couleur de la tête aux pieds ;)

Obsessing over turtlenecks

Nowadays, everything I want to be wearing are turtlenecks. I truly think they are the Canadian girls best friend. You honestly cannot go wrong and you know me, the more oversize, the better. I always layer my turtlenecks with different coats to create a different look. You can go from a day look with a turtleneck and denim to a night outfit by switching it up with leather pants or skirt. There's always a way to make it work !

Ces jours-ci, tout ce que je veux porter c'est un col roulé. Je crois vraiment que le col roulé est le meilleur ami de la fille Canadienne. Nous n'avons pas le choix avec ces températures. C'est vraiment un coup sûr avec le col roulé et vous me connaissez, plus c'est fait grand, le mieux c'est. Je vais toujours porter mes col roulés en rajoutant des couches que cela soit des manteaux ou d'autres pulls. C'est très facile de créer de nouveau look de cette façon. Aussi, c'est super facile de passer d'un look de jour avec des jeans à un look de soir avec des pantalons en cuir ou une jupe. Il y a toujours une façon de se créer un super look !

On another note, here are the little things I've been enjoying recently. I've been having a thing with navy and this Wonderbra bra is no exception. Back to my Chanel habits and trying to take more notes.

Sur une autre note, voici quelques items que j'apprécie en ce moment. J'ai un petit moment avec le bleu marine et cette brassière de chez Wonderbra n'est certainement pas l'exception. De plus, je me suis retrouvée dans mes habitudes Chanel et j'essaie de prendre plus de notes, alors un beau bloc-notes, ça aide.

Simple as 1, 2, Grey

Grey is definitely on trend this season. Whether it's the all grey look or pops of grey, I truly think grey is the new black. Just last week, I was in a store shopping looking for some black knits (because I always need me some black in my life ;p) and all I could find were grey knits. My favourite way of wearing grey is to go for the all grey different tones look. It's super easy and I truly think anybody can pull-it-off. You can wear a lighter grey knit with a darker grey denim and a different tone grey jacket and you instantly look posh. Well, for this look, I decided to show you another way of wearing grey...by mixing it with neutrals. Yes, suede is also a huge thing this season and well by mixing textures and adding a little something to an all grey outfit, it can truly make the difference! 

Le gris est définitivement très tendance cette saison, que ce soit le look tout gris ou certaines pièces grises, je pense vraiment que le gris est le nouveau noir. La semaine dernière, durant une petite virée shopping où j'étais à la recherche de tricots noirs (car je ne peux jamais avoir assez de noir dans ma vie ;p), tout ce que je pouvais trouver était des tricots gris. Ma façon préférée de porter du gris est d'y aller pour la juxtaposition de différents tons. C'est très facile et je pense vraiment tout le monde peut porter la tendance du gris. Vous pouvez porter un tricot gris clair avec un jean gris foncé et d'une veste avec un ton de gris différent et vous instantanément un look chic. Et bien, pour ce look, j'ai décidé de vous montrer une autre façon de porter du gris ... en le mélangeant avec des couleurs neutres. Oui, le suède est aussi une énorme tendance cette saison et bien en mélangeant les textures et en ajoutant un petit quelque chose à un look tout gris, cela peut vraiment faire la différence!

This new bra from Wonderbra (it's no secret that I need good support ;p), my fave new scent by Chloé, the best makeup primer by MUFE, some new goodies from Burberry and the coziest throw from Marshalls. 

Aussi, voici quelques-uns de mes items préférés du moment. J'ai décidé d'intégrer cette petite partie pour vous montrer des produits que j'apprécie en ce moment. Cette brassière de chez Wonderbra (qui offre du bon support et dire que j'en ai bien besoin ;p), mon nouveau parfum préf par Chloé, la meilleure base de maquillage de chez MUFE, des petites nouveautés de chez Burberry et la couverture la plus douce de chez Marshalls.
