This Week's Most Loved...

Spring is here and it's time for a change !

Last week, I decided to take a break from putting any liquid on my face, such as foundation or tinted moisturizer, so I rummaged through my hoard of makeup and I found an old great love the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder
I love this powder, it does not five a full coverage but it creates such a wonderful glow on your face without being shiny, which is not ideal for someone with an oily T-Zone.
All week I wore this powder and my skin never felt better, I found it very appropriate to wear with the wonderful weather we got.

To add a little more oomph, I decided to try a Bronzer that I had kept in my drawer for so long. Last year, I got a kit from Sephora containing a mini Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush and a mini version of the Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer. This Bronzer is exactly what I needed for a nice pick-me-up. Beware, it has a little shine to it, it is not a matte bronzer, but that's specifically what I wanted, something to brighten up my face and add a nice glow.

To tie everything up, I have been obsessed with matte eyeshadows. I have always been the type of girl that leans toward nice warm shimmery brown-toned eyeshadows, but this month and specifically this week, I have been recreating the same eye look over and over again with matte brown shades.
This eye look is the easiest you can find, it consists of two eyeshadows from the Urban Decay Naked Palette : Naked and Buck.

I start by applying the color Naked all over the lid with a MAC 217 brush or you can use any blending eye brush. Then, I take Buck and apply it on the crease with the same brush, you can play with the intensity of the crease with adding more of the Buck color. Then, I usually add either a brown or black winged liner to tie up the look and off I go !

These were the products I used all week and I think I am gonna keep up this little trio for the following week as well. Let me know which products you have been loving this week.

Also, if you have any suggestions for nice matte eyeshadows please keep me posted, I am on the hunt !

Enjoy !

  1. You got some great staple products there! I should probably try wearing powder only, once I start using liquid foundation, I can't stop!

& Naked and Buck looks like the PERFECT neutral eyeshadows! I love me some neutrals too!

    Great entry! xx

  2. Unfortunately powder and me don't really get along, other than just come clear powder to seal my makeup...but I do spend a great deal of time with no makeup on my face going along with your point that it's nice to let your skin breathe! I will admit I'm not much of an makeup person in general so I can't wait to purchase the Urban Decay pallette as I am convinced it will be all I will ever need for the next 5 years haha!

    1. Ok Stef, I got the Naked Palette during the VIB sale at Sephora, used it like crazy at the start, then rediscovered some MAC shadows, but I swear the Naked Palette is a must have. I was honestly do turned off by all the hype around it and one day I found myself at Sephora and decided to swatch the shades and I realised it was a purchase that would save me $$. For me the Naked was the best choice because of the warmer shades, but it's a beauty staple !
