How to wear a dress over pants

I will be honest it took me a couple of tries to get this combination right. In my opinion, wearing a dress over pants can go wrong very quickly. You need the right duo and when you find it, trust me, you will be obsessed. There are 2 main points in nailing this look. Firstly, you need to find a dress that has a looser fit and that does not hug you around the hips, why? Well, because you pull on those jeans or pants, you do not want it to make you look bigger. Secondly, this look needs to be worn with a bit of a heel. I am a tall girl and I can maybe pull-it off with sneakers but adding that height will really elongate your legs and make you look slimmer. Try out these tricks and let me know how you like combining dresses over pants!

Je vais être honnête avec vous, il m'a fallu quelques essais pour obtenir la bonne combinaison. À mon avis, porter une robe sur un pantalon peut être assez difficile à porter. Il faut vraiment trouver le bon duo et quand vous allez le trouver, croyez-moi, vous serez obsédée. Il y a 2 points très important pour bien adopter ce look. Tout d'abord, vous devez trouver une robe qui a une coupe un peu plus lousse et qui ne repose pas sur vos hanches, pourquoi? Car, une fois que vous allez enfiler vos pantalons, vous ne voulez pas que la robe s'accroche sur vos jeans et donne un look trop ample sur cette région. Deuxièmement, ce look doit être porté avec un peu d'élévation. Je suis une fille assez grande et je pourrais peut-être porter ce look avec des espadrilles, mais en ajoutant un peu d'hauteur, vous venez vraiment allonger vos jambes et vous faire paraître plus élancée. The minute I laid eyes on this dress I knew I had to have it. I am really having a thing with dresses these days. I absolute love wearing them to work, on the weekends, basically all the time. You pair them with the perfect tights and booties and you are good to go! One of the easiest looks you can pull.

Rudsak & Ruby

New year, new me? Maybe! This year, I decided that maybe I should integrate a bit more colour into my wardrobe. Slowly but surely as they say! However, this outfit is all about this gorgeous Rudsak shearling vest, just to die for. You might think ''ok this is a vest you cannot wear in winter'', well, think again, because despite the fact that this look is over a simple dress, I currently have the Rudsak Tarlee vest over my winter wool jacket. Extra layers means extra cozy but always super stylish ;) Stay tuned, I'll make sure to show you how I layer this vest over my winter coat!

Nouvelle année, nouveau moi? Peut-être! Cette année, j'ai décidé qu'il était peut-être temps d'intégrer un peu de couleur dans ma garde-robe. Un peu à la fois. Par contre, la clé de ce look c'est la veste en shearling Rudsak, une beauté! Vous pensez probablement ''ok on parle d'une veste, impossible de la porter en hiver?'' Et bien, détrompez-vous! Présentement, je porte la magnifique veste Rusdak Tarlee sur mon manteau d'hiver. Une couche de plus pour être vraiment au chaud ;) Restez à l'écoute, je vais vous montrer comment je fais.

Layering everything

Current obsession: layering everything. Well, also due to the fact that it's freaking cold here in Montreal and I kinda do not have a choice. Layering is really key to staying warm and I feel like it automatically gives your look an upgrade. You can basically wear the same pieces but if you mix and match them differently by incorporating layers, you can get away with it ;) For this look, I layering a knit cardigan with one of my fave tees, all under my cozy H&M white coat. I was so worried to get a white coat but I finally did it and I am super happy about it !

Obsession du moment: toutes les couches possible. Et bien, aussi parce qu'il fait froid dans Montréal et je n'ai pas le choix. La superposition est vraiment la clé pour rester au chaud et je sens toujours que ça donne automatiquement un petit plus à tous mes looks. Vous pouvez essentiellement porter les mêmes pièces, mais si vous mélangez et les assortissez différemment en incorporant différents morceaux, vous pouvez vous retrouvez avec des beaux looks ;) Pour ce look, j'ai opté un cardigan en tricot avec un de mes top prefs et mon nouveau manteau H&M. J'étais tellement inquiète d'acheter un manteau blanc, mais je suis si contente de mon choix!

Everything about grey

How many time have I come on here to declare my love for grey? It just never grows old. I love it so much, every shades, every texture, everything about it. Once again, here is a grey look. I think grey makes me feel happy, content and comfortable. I feel myself when I wear grey but best of all, I feel really good when I mix and match different shades of grey...am I crazy? To break it off this time, I added my brand new pair of New Balance kicks (which I'm obsessed with). They go well with absolutely everything, as you can see here, I paired them with a skirt and knit combo. Extra cozy comfy but still soo cute ;)

Combien de fois vais-je venir et vous déclarer mon amour pour le gris? Je ne me tanne jamais. J'adore le gris, chaque nuance, chaque texture, vraiment tout. Encore une fois, voici un look tout en gris. J'ai réalisé que le gris me rend heureuse et confortable et c'est vraiment une couleur que j'adore. Une chose que j'adore faire est d'aller agencer différentes nuances de gris, je trouve que ça donne un look tellement riche.. suis-je folle? ;) Pour briser le monotone, cette fois, j'ai ajouté ma nouvelle paire de souliers de chez New Balance (dont je ne peux plus me passer). Ils s'agencent super facilement avec tous mes looks, comme vous pouvez voir dans ces photos, le look robe x sneakers, j'adore. Super comfo, mais toujours stylé ;)
