The holidays are here and this means parties and suppers for the next two weeks. On my end, I have three different parties lined up and I sometimes find it hard to find the perfect holiday outfits without them looking to obviously festive. All three of my parties are very very different and it can be hard to find pieces that I really like and that fit with the vibe of the party or supper. I absolutely love finding items that I know I can re-wear for another occasion instead of dishing the big bucks on an expensive sparkly dress. That's just me !
For these three occasions, I ventured to a mall that holds a special place in my heart Rockland Center. You might say "how do you have an emotional attachment to a mall?" Well, yes I do. I grew up in the area and this was the place I would always venture out to with my grandma on her trips to Holt Renfrew and Browns (yes, very #throwbacktothe90s) to find her posh outfits. My grandma passed when I was very young and I truly believe she planted a seed in me when I was young to help me develop my creative side. The whole fashion thing comes from her <3 For me, Rockland Center is my one-stop-shop for a quick, yet fashionable and chic outfit pick. On this little trip, I found a lot of goodies for my parties.
Les fêtes sont déjà ici et ceci veut dire beaucoup de soupers et de fêtes pour les deux prochaines semaines. Qui dit soupers et party, dit plusieurs différents looks. Pour ma part, j'ai trois événements pour lesquels je devais me trouver des looks et je trouve cela difficile parfois de dénicher des looks pour les fêtes sans avoir l'air trop évident avec des paillettes. Mes trois événements sont très différents et cela peut s'avérer difficile de trouver des pièces que j'adore et que je pourrai reporter à tout autre moment sans avoir à dépenser une grosse somme sur une belle robe.
Pour ces trois occasions, j'ai décidé d'aller faire un tour à un centre commercial qui est un peu spécial pour moi, le Centre Rockland. Vous allez me dire: "comment est-ce qu'on peut avoir un attachement émotionnel pour un centre commercial?" Et bien, oui, moi j'en ai. Le Centre Rockland est un endroit qui a occupé une grande place dans mon enfance, car c'était l'endroit de choix de ma chère grand-mère lorsqu'elle voulait dénicher ses looks très fancy au Holt Renfrew et au Browns (qui se souvient du Holt Renfrew au Centre Rockland ;p) et j'étais toujours sa compagne de choix. Ma grand-mère n'est plus avec nous aujourd'hui, mais je sais que c'est elle qui ma poussé à développer mon côté créatif, ainsi que mon amour pour la mode <3 Pour moi, le Centre Rockland est ma destination de choix lorsque je veux rapidement trouver des looks très tendances avec une touche chic. Lors de cette petite escapade au Centre Rockland, j'ai trouvé tous mes essentiels pour mes trois événements.
For the classy Xmas party: Call me boring but a black dress does no wrong. I found this out-of-this-world velvet dress from Addition Elle and I could not believe the fit. AdditionElle is a plus-size store but they now carry size 12 pieces for the in-between girls. I topped this classy pick with my coup-de-coeur of the moment, my long Banana Republic grey coat and some black booties from H&M for that little twist.
Pour le party de Noël très chic: Une robe noire ne peut jamais faire du tort et je crois que c'est souvent le premier choix de plusieurs femmes. On ne peut vraiment pas se tromper. J'ai trouvé cette robe de velours chez Addition Elle et je ne pouvais pas croire comment elle faisait bien. Addition Elle, est un magasin de taille, mais ils desservent désormais de la taille 12 pièces pour les filles qui sont entre-deux. J'ai décidé de rajouté un peu de piquant et une touche plus streetstyle à ma robe avec mon coup-de-coeur du moment, ce long manteau gris de chez Banana Republic et des bottillons noirs de H&M.
For the after-work 5 à 7: This look is perfect if you are straight out of the office and en route to a 5à7 with co-workers to celebrate a little holiday party. Work outfit includes this Massimo Dutti skirt and Zara blouse. After 5pm, adding the velvet booties and the Zara faux-fur throw and its posh vibes only !
Pour le 5 à 7 après le boulot: Ce look est parfait pour une petite sortie festive entre collègues de travail après une grosse journée au boulot. Le look de jour inclus cette superbe jupe extra-comfo de chez Massimo Dutti et la blouse Zara. Après 5pm, je rajoute des petits bottillons en suède et ma fausse-fourrure et on obtient un look très chic!
For the casual secret santa supper with friends: Decided to add my favourite Aldo booties to my super comfy cotton Zara dress. I felt it wasn't festive enough, so I made my way to Banana Republic and found this amazing fringe vest, a fun way to spice-up a cotton dress. Also, a fun clutch can make any outfit.
Pour l'échange de cadeaux entre amis: Une petite robe de cotton peut être très polyvalente. La preuve, j'ai rajouté mes bottillons préf de chez Aldo avec un petit sac de chez Banana Republic pour un look plus étoffé. Je ne trouvais pas cela assez festif, alors en magasinant, je suis tombée sur cette veste de chez Banana Republic qui ajoute la touche parfaite de festivité à mon look.
