Meddling with Mascaras

If I could take one makeup item on a deserted island it would be mascara. I adore a set of full lashes and I am a big mascara lover. This time around, I've been trying a couple of them and these are my top 3 discoveries. First contender, Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Rebel Black a big name but a mighty good mascara. My favourite part of this mascara is the fact that you have a big brush for your upper lashes and a smaller brush for you lower lashes, we often forget those. Up next, the new Rimmel Wonder'Lash with Argan Oil, at first, I found this mascara okay but after a couple weeks, once the formula had dried a bit, I couldn't stop wearing it, it gives an amazing full lash set and it contains Argan Oil, good ingredients for healthy lashes. Finally, the L'Oréal Miss Manga, a well-loved mascara in my makeup kit. This is my second tube of the L'Oréal Miss Manga, I just adore piling it-on for a almost-wearing-false-lashes-effect ;p What is your favourite mascara these days ? 

Si je pouvais prendre juste un produit de maquillage avec moi sur une île déserte, ça serait le mascara. J'adore le look de gros cils volumineux et je suis une grande fan de mascara. Ces temps-ci, j'essaye beaucoup de mascara et voici mes trois meilleures découvertes. Le premier candidat, Maybelline Le Falsies Big Eyes Noir Rebel, un grand nom mais un très bon produit. Ma partie préférée de ce mascara est le fait qu'il y a une grosse brosse pour les cils supérieurs et une petite brosse pour les cils inférieurs, que nous oublions souvent d'ailleurs. Le suivant, une nouveauté de chez Rimmel, le Rimmel Wonder'Lash à l'huile d'argan, au début, j'ai trouvé ce mascara très banal, mais après quelques semaines, une fois que la formule avait un peu séché, je ne pouvais plus m'en passer, il donne une allure de cils bien remplies et il contient l'huile d'argan, un bon ingrédient pour des cils en santé. Enfin, le L'Oréal Miss Manga, un mascara bienaimé dans ma trousse à maquillage. C'est déjà mon deuxième tube du L'Oréal Miss Manga et j'adore tout simplement l'empiler sur mes cils pour obtenir un effet faux-cils-sans-porter-des-faux-cils ;p Quel est votre mascara préféré ces jours-ci?

My love for mattes

When I want to wear a bold color on my lips I always resort to a matte finish. I don't know why but I always feel like they will hold on better and I'm more comfortable. Maybelline recently launched their new Color Sensational Creamy Mattes line. I tried these 4 amazing shades on the course of a couple of weeks and they have quickly become my go-to matte lips formula. The Maybelline Creamy Mattes feel very comfortable on the lips and offer good staying power for those night outs. Check out your local drugstore for more shades. There's some for everyone :)

Quand je veux porter une couleur audacieuse sur mes lèvres je recherche toujours un fini matte. Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais j'ai toujours l'impression qu'ils tiendront mieux sur mes lèvres et je me sens plus à l'aise. Black Leopard

My obsession with a monochrome lifestyle is only growing. I just can't stop but this season, I do not know if you noticed, black is one of the colours that very rare in the stores, it's all about the grey (which still fits my monochrome love);p Although, I love the monochrome, I'm all about a pop of something whether it's lipstick, a beenie or an accessory, I always need to add a little something-something. For this outfit, my little oomph are these gorgeous leopard booties. I was eyeing these on the Zara website from the minute they came out and I'm so lucky I scored them during the sale. Many things came out from the Zara sale tornado ;p. Also, you all heard the sad news about the Target Canada stores, I am in mourning, I loved hitting up my local Target and finding amazing gems like this fur vest. Now, I have more reasons to travel to the States ;)

Mon obsession avec un mode de vie monochrome ne fait que croître. Je ne peux arrêter, mais cette saison, je ne sais pas si vous avez remarqué, le noir est devenu une couleur rare dans les magasins, tout est au sujet du gris (qui s'adapte toujours pour mon amour du monochrome) ;p. Malgré que j'adore le monochrome, j'ai toujours besoin d'une touche de couleur, que ce soit avec un rouge à lèvres, un beenie ou avec un accessoire, j'ai toujours besoin d'ajouter un petit pop de couleur à mes looks. Pour cette tenue, mon petit punch sont ces magnifiques bottines imprimées léopard. Je salivais devant ceux-ci sur le site web de Zara du moment où elles étaient en ligne et j'ai tellement eu de chance lorsque je l'ai trouvé durant les soldes. Laissez-moi vous dire que les soldes chez Zara ont causé un vent de tempête chez moi ;p. Aussi, vous avez probablement tous entendu les tristes nouvelles sur les magasins Target Canada, je suis en deuil, j'aimais tant aller à mon Target et trouver des petits trésors comme ce gilet de fourrure. Maintenant, j'ai une excuse pour voyager aux États-Unis ;)

Lush or Love ?

Foodie Friday : Sumac

Let me introduce you to my best discovery of December 2014, Sumac restaurant. Many of you already know but I am of Armenian/Lebanese/Moroccan descent, so our meals pretty much consist of everything you can find at Amir, couscous and so on. So you can imagine that when I want to eat at a restaurant I do not gravitate towards that type of cuisine, cos mama knows best ;p However, Sumac had been on my radar for weeks and I had to take the test. 1 word : WOW ! Mama knows best but Sumac knows some good stuff also. Allow me to give you the deets. Firstly, we jumped the gun and had to order the garlic labneh. When it arrived at our table, we died of happiness. Pure bliss. Then, we order the mains : chicken shawarma pita, beef kefta pita and my personal fave the sumac fries. We dipped the sumac fries in the garlic labneh, a definite must-try when you try out this restaurant. In brief, Sumac is a clear choice in my book for the perfect affordable lunch or supper, they even prepare take-out, so you can grab and go. A friendly advice : you need to indulge in the sumac fries ;p

Permettez-moi de vous présenter ma meilleure découverte du mois de décembre 2014, le restaurant Sumac. Certains d'entre vous le savent déjà, mais je suis d'origine arménienne/ libanaise/marocaine, donc, nos repas se composent à peu près de tout ce que vous pouvez trouver chez Amir, du couscous, etc. Alors, lorsque je veux manger dans un restaurant, je ne gravite pas vers ce type de cuisine, car maman connait sa cuisine ;p Cependant, Sumac était sur mon radar depuis des semaines et je ai dû passer au test. En un mot: WOW! Maman connaît sa cuisine, mais Sumac connaît quelques bonnes choses aussi. Permettez-moi de vous donner les détails. Tout d'abord, nous avons commander le labneh à l''ail. Quand ce plat est arrivé à notre table, nous étions fous de joie. Un pur délice. Ensuite, nous avons commandé nos plats principaux : le pita au poulet shawarma, le pita au boeuf kefta et mon coup de coeur les frites au sumac. Nous avons trempé les frites au sumac dans le labneh à l'ail, un must lorsque vous essayez ce restaurant. En bref, Sumac est un choix clair dans mon livre pour le dîner ou le souper à un prix abordable. De plus, ils préparent les plats pour emporter, donc vous pouvez saisir vos plats et vous rendez à la maison. Un conseil d'ami : vous devez vous gâter avec les frites au sumac; p

Pureology Strength Cure

New year, new habits ! To be honest, I've never been the girl that buys super specific haircare for my hair type. Obviously, my main goal in life is to reduce my frizz situation but that's always been an on-going battle since now. This year, I decided to actually explore the world of haircare and research on different products. For the past two months, I've been dipping in the world of Pureology with their Strength Cure line and I love it. Every time I use the Pureology line, my hair is so soft and shiny, but shiny in a good way. I use the Pureology Restorative masque once every two week or as I need and apply the Pureology Fabulous Lengths treatment after the shower and air-dry my hair. The result : silky smooth healthy hair without crazy frizz ;p

Nouvelle année, nouvelles habitudes ! Pour être honnête, je n'ai jamais été le genre de fille qui s'achète des produits capillaires supers spécifiques pour mon type de cheveux. Évidemment, mon but premier dans la vie est de réduire ma situation avec les frisotis, mais j'ai toujours été en bataille, jusqu'à ce jour. When it's summer, we dream about booties and sweaters and when it's winter we just want to be in our bikini's. Secret of a woman : we always want what we don't have. Last summer, I was already trying to figure out what type of winter coat I wanted to rock in the winter. I rapidly concluded I wanted something more on the casual/sporty vibe. Enter my visit at the Point Zero showroom and my instant connection with this amazing white coat. Let's be honest our mothers always told us not to buy white and we always did. As you can see, this is my first bilingual article, do you enjoy this ? 

En été, nous rêvons de bottillons et de grosses laines et en hiver, nous voulons seulement être dans notre bikini. Secret de femme : nous voulons toujours ce que nous ne pouvons pas avoir. L'été dernier, j'étais déjà entrain de discerner quel type de manteau je voulais porter cet hiver. J'ai rapidement conclu que je voulais plutôt quelque chose dans le vibe sport/décontracté. Spa Eastman

FRI-YAY ! What better way to start the weekend than with a Spa excursion ?! Last month, after a long and hard semester, the boyfriend and I got invited to spend the day at the Spa Eastman in the Eastern Townships. The Spa Eastman is not like any spa, it is purely based on well-being, self-renewal and wellness. This Spa has a completely different vibe, it's all about resetting your mind, body and soul and being away from any stress factors. Unlike every spa with bath ritual, the Spa Eastman organizes stress-relief classes, such as nice long walks on their immense land, conferences on a healthy-living lifestyle, special water massages. Also, Spa Eastman offers hotel accommodation, so you can actual disconnect from life for a couple of days, no cell phone, no computers, no work. That Saturday morning, that's exactly what we did, we closed our phones and enjoyed nature and our inner-calm. For lunch, we had an amazing meal at the in-house Spa Eastman restaurant that serves only-organic, gluten-free and dairy-free meals and let me tell you, we couldn't even tell the difference. The food was absolutely delicious. All in all, the boyfriend and I adored our experience and will surely be back. Every couple of months, you need to disconnect from life, refresh and start new and you don't need to travel 500 miles to do so, we have little gems hidden in our province like the Spa Eastman.

Foodie Friday : Kyo Bar Japonais

You should have realized that a new feature has been added to the blog : Foodie Friday. I absolutely trying new restaurants and Montreal is one of the best city's to do so. Last month, the boyfriend and I had reservations at Kyo Bar Japonais, an amazing new Old Port restaurant. A new thing we've been trying out this year is not deciding our meal and letting the chef bring us the speciality of the restaurant. We try to this at every new restaurant we try and we were so excited for Kyo Bar Japonais. The service was so on point, we barely waited for our food and the restaurant was full of people. 

We started off with amazing cold entrees such as Scallop Ceviche with Yuzu, Beef Sashimi and Tataki Maguro. These entrees were everything, like pure joy in our belly's. We then continued with Pork Dumplings and the most amazing Cod dish. At this point, we were already so full but decided on a couple of sushi rolls such as the Shogun roll that was amazing. I am very picky with seafood and sushi and Kyo Bar Japonais really serves the best quality. Finally the piece de résistance were the Yuzu Donuts, a complete and utterly delight. If you are a fan of Japanese food you will be gladly impressed with Kyo Bar Japonais, a definite destination for your next Asian craving ;p

Mackage SS15

Hi everyone ! I'm so happy to be back to a regular blogging schedule. I will try my best to publish something every day of the week for you guys. I am back to school and this time, I'm once again the student. Going back to finish my Masters and maybe considering a PhD in the near future. Education is a subject that really interest me and I truly want to try to make a difference. This semester, for now, I will not be teaching as the registrations decreased, so I'm focusing on University and my blog. 

Back to the fashion world. Last month, I had the pleasure of having a private tour of the Mackage showroom and let me tell you, I saw some beautiful things. I've put together for you the best of the best of the Spring Summer 2015 pieces from Mackage. I fell in love with the women's collection and the boyfriend basically tried on every piece of the men's collection. As you can see, color is of the essence in this collection and you know that color is definitely my cup of tea, my signature. I also feel like, structure is a Mackage signature. Each piece is carefully crafted and structured and falls really well on the body. I completely fell head over heels for the gorgeous Mackage Rubie handbag.

Taking care of my hair

Whether it's the humidity of summer or the dryness of winter, I always need to find a way to tame my hair. Two months ago, I started using the Kérastase Glaçages Thermiques collection and my hair changed, I can now maintain it. My hair routine is very simple, wash hair, add a pea-size amount of my favorite product of the line, the Kérastase Kératine Thermique, slightly dry hair with the blow dryer and sleep on it. The next morning, I sometimes use a curler and I'm out the door. The Kérastase Kératine Thermique really tamed my frizz and enhanced my curls. I'm telling you, I'm always up for a product that will help a lazy girl out ;p
